Product Description:
The Bearing Expert modules supply bearing/oil seal and vibration data for manufacturers worldwide. AFBMA part numbers are also represented.
The interchange modules include:
  • Bearings (Ball, Roller, Tapered Roller, and Mounted Units)
  • Oil Seals
  • Vibration Frequency Data
Interchange Reports reflect the following bearing data in addition to the manufacturer and manufacturers part number:
Unmounted Bearings
Mounted Bearings
Spindle Bearings
Width
I.D.
O.D.
Bolt Hole Centers
Base to Center Heights
Locking Devices
Inserts
Preloads
Contact Angles
Cage Materials

VIBRATION FREQUENCY DATA:
Vibration Frequency Reports are generated for all manufacturers for that bearing number. It is not necessary to look up frequencies one manufacturer at a time.
Vibration Frequency Reports reflect the following bearing data in addition to the manufacturer and manufacturers part number:
  • Ball/Roller Diameter
  • No. of Ball/Rolling Elements
  • Pitch Diameter
  • Fundamental Train Frequency
  • Ball Spin Frequency
  • Ball Path Frequency Inner
  • Ball Path Frequency Outer
* All frequencies are calculated based upon the RPM value you specify.

SEARCH PROCEDURES: When using The Bearing Expert Database you have three search options available. Each search option requires 2-3 keystrokes to view the interchange or vibration data. It's quick and it's easy.
SEARCH BY PART NUMBER: The user enters the part number he wishes to interchange. Entering a full part number (i.e. 6203 2RS) results in a complete listing of manufacturers worldwide that make that part. Entering a partial part number brings you to that bearing series where the user may scroll through to further select the bearing number.
SEARCH BY DIMENSION: The user may enter any or all of the bearing dimensions in millimeters or inches.
SEARCH BY MANUFACTURER and TYPE: The user may specifically select the bearing type and manufacturer to view interchange and vibration data for that bearing.
IT ONLY TAKES ONE BREAKDOWN...
FOR THE BEARING EXPERT TO PAY FOR ITSELF.

REDUCE DOWNTIME COSTS:
A large automotive manufacturer running The Bearing Expert on 30 computers indicates The Bearing Expert has reduced the amount of downtime repeatedly by enabling them to pull a replacement bearing out of inventory that they previously would not have recognized as an interchange. This manufacturer reported The Bearing Expert pays for itself monthly. That is a 12 time Return on Investment.
A large aluminum manufacturing plant using The Bearing Expert says "We use this product every day. We cannot understand why The Bearing Expert is so inexpensive. Downtime is the highest unnecessary cost most plants experience. Progressive manufacturing plants use every tool available to reduce downtime. The Bearing Expert is such a tool!"
An aerospace customer recently indicated that after using The Bearing Expert Vibration frequency data to identify bearings that are malfunctioning, they use the bearing interchange to find a replacement bearing from stock to eliminate downtime. "For us to procure a bearing or part from outside the plant requires us to fill out 15+ forms. This costs substantial money where downtime is concerned."
One electronic manufacturing plant took over one year to procure The Bearing Expert. Three weeks after installing the product, there was a breakdown at the plant. Delivery from this plants' bearing supplier was next day. The electronic manufacturing plant used The Bearing Expert and found a bearing in stock that was used to prevent further downtime. The downtime savings paid for The Bearing Expert ten times over.
REDUCE NIGHT CALLS:
Another automotive manufacturing plant is using The Bearing Expert on third shift. This plant quickly realized that The Bearing Expert was available 24 hours per day with interchange data. Previously, employees were forced to call vendors at home and wait for them to get to their offices to look up a particular interchange. With The Bearing Expert data is available within seconds. Night calls at this site have been reduced by 80%.
SPEEDS DESIGN AND REDUCES COSTS:
The Bearing Expert provides savings in design and development as well. One user spent four man-hours researching catalogs to find a bearing to fit a particular size requirement. The Bearing Expert gave him a complete listing of interchange information in 15 seconds.
Another engineer needed several hundred bearings of a particular size. The price on each bearing he selected was approximately $300.00. Using The Bearing Expert, he found five alternative bearings that could be used. The lowest price per bearing being $64.00. Still not satisfied with the price, this engineer used The Bearing Expert once again and found a needle bearing that would work with his application. Previously, he was not aware that needle bearings were made this large. The price per bearing... $19.00. He is sold on The Bearing Expert.
REDUCE INVENTORY COSTS:
Reduce inventory costs while maintaining coverage with The Bearing Expert. One user purchased The Bearing Expert as a tool to identify a large group of previously unidentified bearings in his storeroom. The Bearing Expert enabled him to enter the dimensions and identify the bearing. His alternative would have been to spend many man-hours pouring through catalogs. Once identified this user can now utilize these bearings and prevent duplication of inventory.
